Fabian Schmiedel
Fabian Schmiedel started playing drums when he was 12. He received classical training before enrolling as a student at thePlanetDrum. There he completed a five year professional training course with Mirko Schmitt. Afterwards he studied jazz under Uli Lenz, which led to him playing in jazz bands and receiving support from a program provided by Berlin-based music schools.
While expanding his drumming styles to include jazz, latin, funk, rock, speed drumming and independence, he also learnt how to work with different kinds of percussion instruments.
Fabian has played in loads of different bands over the years, in a bunch of different styles – from rock, to jazz, to punk. One of those bands is Ask Eric, an alternative rock band, which has toured all over Germany with the likes of Ill Scarlett, Vega 4 or Empty Trash. He has an extremely broad repertoire from all his years as a teacher and a drummer and has gathered loads of studio and session experience.
