Alberto Atalah
Alberto Atalah, a Chilean drummer, began playing drums when he was 14. After five years of private lessons for drums and snare drum, he began studying classical percussion at the Catholic University in Chile. There he learned to play the xylophone, marimba, percussion sets and kettledrums, as well as other instruments.
Alberto has also occasionally taken private lessons from a variety of drum teachers. While studying, he stood out for his snare drum skills in particular.
Alberto’s strengths are double bass drumming, rudiments, polyrhythms and odd meters. Over the last few years he’s been working with a variety of rock, metal, pop, fusion, progressive and Latin American bands in South America and Europe.
He’s been living in Berlin since 2005. At the moment he’s playing with The Outside (metal) and Al Negro (Latin pop rock). Alberto started taking lessons at thePlanetDrum in the middle of 2008, and soon became a teacher there.
